Calla (fka Mia) was surrendered to a vet clinic at 8 weeks old for having seizures.  The seizures were from an UNKNOWN reason... well, I can speculate as I have a foster who was beaten...but anyway I digress. The seizures caused blindness in both eyes.  Miss Calla has not had a seizure since being surrendered to the vet clinic (over 2 months). She is good with other dogs, cats and kids.   It is a requirement to have another canine friend for her to learn from and a fenced yard to keep her safe and let her explore. All dogs and puppies require supervision and training.

From the foster:
I can't believe this adorable, loving girl hasn't been adopted yet! She would make the perfect addition to any family! She loves everyone she's met, both small and large dogs, and even cats. She is full of puppy energy and loves jumping and galloping around outside. Calla is kennel and potty trained and an all around sweetheart. Though initially we were told she was blind, we're realizing that her vision may not be as bad as we first thought--she can possibly see light/ dark differences, some shapes and some movement. Most people don't even realize she has a vision impairment when they first meet her. Calla has learned "sit" and is working on walking on a leash. She is becoming more and more cuddly by the day. Calla is so cute and sweet, and the she's ready for the perfect home!

She will need extra time to trust and settle into a new environment.
First priority will go to someone who lives in the twin cities metro in order to bring to a vet visit.  Please put in your application on our website mattysheartandsoulanimalrescue.rescuegroups.org.
