Our mission is to bring hope back to the discarded, abandoned, neglected, and abused dogs and cats, and provide them with all they need in a loving foster family until they find their perfect forever home. To be their voice and right all wrongs.
Matty’s Heart & Soul Animal Rescue (MHSAR) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization entirely run by dedicated volunteers. We do not have paid staff or a physical facility—our rescue is 100% foster-based, allowing us to provide personalized care in loving home environments.
We were officially established as a Minnesota non-profit on June 22, 2018, and received our federal 501(c)(3) status on August 30, 2018.
Based in the Twin Cities Metro area of Minnesota, MHSAR is committed to rescuing dogs and cats in need. We work with local impounds, reservations in North and South Dakota, and rescue animals from high-risk areas in Texas.
FIDA, one of our new partners, donated 6 brand new durable slip leads to us & plan to do so 4 times a year.

We are always in need of foster homes for:
- Adult dogs
- Puppies
- Moms with puppies
- Adult cats
- Kittens
- Moms with kittens
As a foster-based rescue, we provide all necessary vetting, food, and supplies—you provide the love and safe space!
Fosters must be willing to attend veterinary appointments & events at various locations in the Twin Cities metro area.
