Ezra and his siblings were rescued from a SD reservation.  They are good with dogs, cats and kids.  Puppies need ongoing training and supervision. T
From the foster :

Ezra is SUCH a good boy! The best words to describe him are chill, playful, and friendly. His tail is always wagging and he has such a great temperament. He is not very “attention-demanding” and is content laying in his bed and chewing on a toy while you are hanging out nearby - he likes to see you but doesn’t require being right at your side. But he also loves it when you get on the ground to play tug of war with him and give him lots of pets and belly rubs!

Although he doesn’t seek attention/affection very often, he doesn’t mind being held or picked up at all - and will often snuggle into your neck when you do. He also enjoys snuggling up on a warm blanket next to you for naps, and will sometimes crawl into your lap for snuggles when he is getting tired!

Ezra gets along SO great with other dogs and would do well in a home with another playful dog or as an only dog. We currently have another foster that is similar age/size and they play together without issue, and LOVE snuggling together for naps. We also own a St. Bernard, and Ezra plays great with him too! Being that he is still a puppy, he is still learning what appropriate play with other dogs looks like; as in, tug of war with toys is ok - tug of war with ears is not ok (lol) - but he takes redirection extremely well in these situations.

We recently started working on potty training and basic commands, and he is picking them up very quick! He is very treat motivated. He knows off, down, and come, and we are still working on sit, stay, and drop it. His new owners will need to continue working with him on these commands every day to help him perfect his training!

Ezra is also kennel trained. He is able to be in his kennel overnight without any accidents (approx. 9hrs). We are still working on the “kennel up” command, but as long as he gets a treat when he goes in there and has a comfy bed to lay on, he doesn’t mind being there at all!

Ezra is a little weary of new people at first, but within a few minutes he is ready play and get pet! He does great with children as well (we have a 7 year old), but it’s important understand he is still learning “down” and to not jump up when he is excited. He is improving everyday, but is still a puppy and will need continued daily training to address that puppy behavior!

Overall, Ezra would be an amazing addition to any family that has experience/knowledge of puppies. In just the few weeks he’s been with us he has come such a long way and his chill/kind personality has left us seriously in love with him. Being that he is so young, there is still plenty of time to train this sweet boy and ensure he’s the best addition to your family!
