Poppy, Has gone from a secluded young pup to I know I am scared but I really want a pet. She started out only refusing to come out of her kennel to coming up on the couch and snoring while you watch TV She will walk on a leash but it does not take much to spook her. A little pet and reassurance and she will continue. This girl would prefer another dog to play with and sleep with. She gains confidence with patience and soft talk. If your looking for a playmate for your kids this is not your dog, how ever if your looking for a walking partner and a cuddle bunny give this girl a shot I promise you will get 10 times the love back

Poppy has had so many humans fail her... it is time for those to turn around!  She was a pup dumped in rural Oklahoma (who knows what happened to her and those that were with her).  She was trapped and then sent to a rescue in North Dakota.  She was pregnant, tested positive for heartworm, had her babies and then the rescue closed down.  Thankfully we were able to work with her foster and her foster has worked wonders for Poppy.   She has completed her heartworm treatment and is ready for her own family now. She needs a home with a confident resident dog, a fenced in yard and a family that has lots of patience and will work and train her to get to the next level of trust.  She is great with kids but we would like to say no to any under 10... just because the fast movements and such scare her.
