Pumpernickel found himself unwanted as a stray and then in a West Texas high kill shelter. He is dog and kid friendly. He does amazing on a leash so he makes a great walking partner. 
While he gets along great with other dogs, he would be very content with being the only dog in the home and have all of the love to himself and not have an "annoying" sibling.

Pumpernickel (Aka Ragnar) is one laid back dude. He is a sweet, loving pup. If you like to walk, this is your guy. He loves to go on walks. He pulls just a bit on leash, but he is working on that. He can’t help himself because he just wants to keep going and explore the world around him. Such a mellow guy, he gets along with everyone he meets. He is a favorite in my neighborhood. All the neighbors love to stop and say hi to him. He loves a good scratch. He loves a good nap. He is still trying to figure out what cats are, since he has only seen one through a window.
Pumpernickel is crate and house trained. Because of his love to explore, a fenced yard is recommended. He loves chew toys, rope toys, and running in circles. He has a wonderful, unique personality. He is a big sweetie!
