Scuba found himself unwanted in West Texas.  He had to have surgery on a broken leg and have a toe amputated upon arrival.  That has not slowed him down... he is still goofy and happy as ever. He is VERY dog friendly with dogs of all ages and sizes, cats  and he's people friendly too .  He enjoys watching the birds in the yard,  sunbathing and he loves the water, the wading pool is a favorite to splash around or lay down in. He doesn't mind baths (he actually will hop in the shower right with you if given the chance).  He loves a good bone, chew toy or stuffy to shred and we are starting to chase a ball, but because we are not supposed to run lots he doesn't really get the full concept yet. He does require a fenced yard so he can patrol the yard and hang out when the weather is nice. He would do best in a home with another playful dog.
He is fully potty and crate trained and can also be trusted to be left out of the crate.   He sleeps on his dog bed all night long, but he wouldn't mind cuddling in a humans bed.  He enjoys a short walk while he is continuing to heal and gain strength. He knows basic commands such as sit, down, off and come. He is super treat motivated (and human food) and eager to please his people.
He was diagnosed with Valley Fever in his bones and has had agressive treatment for it. His bones are now clear, but he will require maintence medication (possibly for life) and additional vet visits to make sure he is not having side effects from the meds. The expected medication cost is around $90/mo once he is adopted.
He is still undergoing checks and additional treatment from his broken leg as it didn't heal quite the way they had hoped with the Valley Fever. The rescue will cover these visits until the vet feels he is considered only needing maintence visits/meds and has completed with all current treatments.
