Meet Amaryllis! This sweet girl will melt your heart.. She's friendly, soft and snuggly and hopes to find her forever home soon where she'll love her people to pieces. You'll fall in love with this young lady, too. She's just a cuddlebug and gives the sweetest doggie kisses!! Amaryllis and her daughter found themselves unwanted, and in a high kill shelter in West Texas. It was a long journey from Texas to Minnesota, but we think she likes it here, very much. Amaryllis is housetrained, and loves to go on long walks. She pulls on the leash sometimes, but she is getting better every day and learning it's so much better to not pull. She's getting the hang of matching her pace to the speed of her foster mom. She still gets very excited when she sees another dog when out walking... and has some work to do on that yet. Amaryllis is very comfortable in her crate and will go in there and curl up when she wants some space to herself. She sleeps quietly in the crate all night. But it's hard for her to be in the kennel all day when everyone else is not home. A beef thigh bone or kong chew toy stuffed with treats and peanut butter helps. Amaryllis is learning to sit, lie down and stay, and has so much more to learn from you! Keep an eye on her if you've left food out on the counter... she'll be quick about snatching it when you're not looking. But with gentle reminders she's learning to remember to keep her paws off the counters. Her foster mom has taken lots of photos of her and always says Amaryllis is so much cuter than her photos! Amaryllis is good with other dogs and has lots of energy to play. She's good with kids, older kids are probably best because she's still young and strong and can get excited and may be a bit much for younger humans. She loves snuggling and is looking forward to making lots of Minnesota memories with her forever family.
Priority will go to applicant who can bring to a vet visit in Golden Valley, MN prior to adoption. Please put in your application on our website mattysheartandsoulanimalrescue.rescuegroups.org
