Count, his mate and 3 babies were dumped in a high kill shelter in West Texas  They are good with dogs and kids, cats are unknown.   All dogs and puppies require supervision and training.

Count is the cutest, sweetest little weiner dog you could ever meet! (Yeah, yeah, officially he’s listed as a Chi mix, but come on! Look at that long body and short legs!) He came from Texas and is around two years old. He loves everyone he meets and is such a cuddly boy. Count does not like to be left alone, but if he is with another dog or two or three, he is totally ok. He spends most of the day playing with my other dogs, and when they get tired of playing, he will toss around his toys. Count’s tail wags non stop, too! He will use a potty pad, but he also is house trained and will go outside (he walks from shrub to shrub and potties, then runs back to the door to come in). He walks great on a leash, and this Minnesota snow does not seem to bother him at all. In the evenings, after cuddling with his humans while they watch tv, he either goes in his kennel or lays on the couch. Again, as long as he is with his doggy friends, he is fine to be left in the living room all night long. Count has been known to take off with the remote control or a slipper and bring them into his bed to chew, so you do need to be careful to leave “treasures” off the floor. He isn’t, generally, a “chewer”, though. He does not like to be closed into his kennel and will cry if he is locked in, but because he is so good, I have not found a reason to ever keep him contained. Count is not a barker. He would make a wonderful pet to anyone that has another dog or dogs to keep him company.

Priority will go to applicant who can bring to vet visit in the Twin Cities Metro, MN. Please put in your application on our website mattysheartandsoulanimalrescue.rescuegroups.org.
