Blackie and his brother Cow, Too found themselves unwanted at a high kill shelter in West Texas. They are good with other dogs and kids, cats are unknown.   All dogs and puppies require supervision and training. 

Blackie (nicknamed Boots) arrived in Minnesota with his brother Cow, Too at the end of August. He is a sweet, curious pup. He can be shy at first but once he knows you, he won’t want to leave your side. Blackie loves to be around people and he is a quick learner! He is not fully potty trained but he’s having fewer and fewer accidents. He is also doing great with crate training. It’s a place he likes to wander into and lay down from time to time or bring in a toy to chew on. When he is not in his crate, he loves to chew on his bone, play with toys, or sleep on his dog bed. Blackie also does well on a leash and likes to be outside. He can be a counter surfer but does well with redirection and training. Blackie gets along with his chill, relaxed foster sister but has not been around cats (as far as we know). He’s gentle when he takes treats and rarely jumps on people so we’d expect he would be good with kids but he hasn’t had the chance to be around them since he’s arrived from Texas. He would be a great addition to any family looking for a mix of a playful pup and a relaxed snuggler.
