Selene found herself unwanted at a high kill shelter in West Texas. She is good with kids. She is not good with cats or other dogs due yo resource guarding.   All dogs and puppies require supervision and training.

Selene is a female, Great Pyrenees mix that is about two and a half years old. Although her mix is unknown and she is a little smaller than a typical pyr, she carries a lot of a pyr including the double dew claws. 

Selene came into rescue very malnourished. While she is working on gaining weight, Selene does struggle with resource guarding of items around other animals. Due to this, Selene would best be suited as the only animal in the home. 

She is a sweet and loving girl that happily likes to lounge by your side. She’s mild in energy and doesn’t require much. She walks like a dream on a leash. Selene is also a role model for behavior when it comes to bathing and grooming. She has no problem being bathed and blown out. 

Selene does have some separation anxiety and doesn’t like being left alone. A family that is home often and keeps a consistent schedule would be best for her. Selene does require a very sturdy crate as she continues to work on learning that the crate is a safe and comfortable space to be. 

Selene is well mannered in personality and doesn’t jump up on people- an old soul of sorts. 

Selene rides well in a kennel in the car and doesn’t get car sick. 

A home that is patient and willing to continue to work with Selene will find themselves a very loyal best friend.
