Mom of Huckleberry's litter was bitten by a skunk on a SD Reservation, and the owner and vet they took her to suspected rabies. Mom was euthanized and rabies exam came back negative. They were left without a mom at less than 4 weeks of age. One of our amazing fosters said yes and became their momma. They are good with other dogs and cats. All dogs and puppies require supervision and training.
Huckleberry started off as the shy one of the pack and socialization at events has been wonderful to get him out of his shell.
He is a sweet little goofball! He loves to play with toys and outside with his large breed host pups. He chases cats when he is active, but can chill and coexist too. He took a little time (overnight) to adjust to us and trust us, then wanted to be with us at all times! He loves to be on your lap or in your arms during chill time and is happy to lay at your feet while working from home. He is working on his trust with visitors and likes them best if given lots of treats when they arrive and throughout their stay. He is learning cues and manners as well as housetraining. He kennels wonderfully.
He is ready for his forever family, is that you? Please put in your application on our website mattysheartandsoulanimalrescue.rescuegroups.org.
