Ambrosia was part of a hoarding situation of more than 50 dogs and puppies. Some were lucky and found themselves in a high kill shelter in West Texas. A neighbor has shot quite a few of them and we, thankfully, were able to save some of them. They are good with other dogs and kids, cats are unknown. All dogs and puppies require supervision and training.
Meet Ambrosia, aka Rosie. She has been looking for her forever family for 7 months and I can’t believe she has had no apps. Look at that face! How can you resist?!?!
Rosie is 35 lbs of love, but you would never know if you saw her at an adoption event. She is very timid in new environments, but when comfortable she loves to play with other dogs of all sizes, and to cuddle with her humans. When at a temporary foster it took her about 24 hours adjust and interact with the other dogs, so patience is important. She would do best with another dog in the house to show her the ropes. She is nervous around loud noises and quick movement so young children are probably not the best fit for her, and may cause stress. She loves my teen and friends.
Rosie loves to be outside, including in the winter. She may be from Texas but she is an all season gal. She enjoys going on walks but the sound of trucks and cars are a little scary still, so she does tend to stay close to her human.
She plays wells with other dogs, and will entertain herself with toys if the other dogs are not interested. She also likes to be near you on the couch and held in your lap for a good scratch. Her kennel is her safety zone and if she is uncomfortable or scared she will go in it on her own accord, so it is important for her to have access to it.
Rosie is kennel trained and house broken. She has been one of the easiest fosters once she gains some confidence. She will make a great addition to any family.
