Moo Moo is a sweet baby that found himself unwanted in a high kill shelter in West Texas. He is good with other dogs, cats and kids. All dogs and puppies require supervision and training.

This fun, goofy and up-for-anything pup’s name is Moo-Moo, but we just call him Moo. Or Puppy. He will answer to anything if you have a treat! Moo is smart, playful and a real athlete. He can bounce like he’s on a pogo-stick, loves to jump and play on the trampoline, and when he gets the zoomies, he will rocket over anything! We love to say he’s practicing his parkour.

Moo currently lives with an older kiddo and they love to play. Moo is a big puppy and sometimes doesn’t know his size, but he recently spent the day with an 18mo and he did great! Moo loves giving face kisses and that toddler was the perfect height. Moo loves all dogs and wants to play with all of them all of the time. He is always excited to meet a new friend when on a walk or at the pet store. Moo currently lives with a dog-savvy cat who doesn’t often run. But when the cat does run, Moo will give chase- it’s a fun game! But a cat who is wary of dogs might find the attention overwhelming, so a confident cat would be best.

Moo loves to go for walks, hiking, or just driving around in the car! He comes with on errands and will sit in the car and wait patiently for you to come back. He is not destructive; he really loves to watch what’s going on in the world. Moo is potty and kennel trained, sleeping overnight in his kennel. He loves his kennel and will put himself to bed when he is tired. He also will go easily in during the day when we need to leave him home or he needs a break.

Moo came from Texas and was usure of the cold and the snow. But now he is a huge fan of snow and not nervous going out in the dark anymore. He LOVES to run around in the snow and will just plop down to sit in it when he needs a break. His fur is short, but thick and very soft.

Moo likes to complete tasks like being told to go wake up specific family members in the morning. He knows the words “potty” and “eat”, along with sit, wait, shake, down, up (jump) and he’s learning drop it. He also learned “boop” which is bopping your nose with his nose. His favorite toys are anything that squeaks! He is obsessed with that noise and we’ve started using a squeaker as a training tool.

Moo turns heads wherever he goes. Moo would do great in a home with another playful pup to help burn some energy or doggy daycare. He really loves all dogs. He is friendly with new people and recently did great at having strangers come into the home for a party. He always wants to be where the action is and he made many new friends.

Moo would excel at a sport like fly-ball or agility. He is nimble and fast and has no fears of new things, like climbing on playgrounds or crawling under obstacles to get his toy back. He loves to play fetch and is working on dropping the ball at your feet. He loves to play tug (and will play tug with other dogs!).

Moo is working on more obedience like stay and come and would benefit from training. His breed mix is hard working and eager to please but needs that training foundation to continue to develop into an amazing companion!

With all those positives, here are the things to consider about Moo. He suffers from some separation anxiety and can become stressed when he is kenneled during the day too long. His is used to being home with his foster mom or dad and only kenneled for 3-5 hours during the day. Again, he loves his kennel at night but during the day he doesn’t like being along. For this reason, Moo needs to go to a home where his family will be home most of the time (or can take him with) OR to a home with another confident dog to spend his days with to show him that everything is ok.

While his dental health is currently good, he does have an enamel deficiency. As he ages, he may need to have sealant applied to his teeth (there is an at home option as well). He currently allows for his teeth to be brushed, so he should be just fine with any at home dental care in the future.
