Rolo is one of Anise's 3 puppies which were owner surrenders from West Texas.  He was returned due to a too chaotic of a household for him. He is good with dogs and older kids. Puppies & dogs need training, exercise and supervision. 

Rolo is thought to be an Australian Shepherd x Jack Russel Terrier Mix. As you would assume with this possible breed mix, Rolo is a smart guy who enjoys pleasing his owner. But, he is hesitant about new things. Rolo has been working very hard on bringing up his self-confidence. He has learned that sounds aren’t out to get him and that the world can be a fun place to do a lot of cool things. Rolo is currently fostered with many other animals. He does well with the numerous other dogs and cats he is fostered with, although he does prefer his playmates not to be too overly pushy and domineering. He is a little hesitant of the sheep. He does show some sign of prey drive for the chickens, so while he is fine with them in their enclosure, I probably would not place him where he had access to free-roaming birds. Rolo loves consistency in his life and thrives with a regular schedule. He happily kennels, as this is his safe space. He doesn’t ever make a peep or mess in his kennel. He can easily hold it through a work day. With a regular schedule, Rolo has not had any potty accidents in his foster home. He is not a picky eater and hasn’t shown signs of any allergies. Rolo has gone on many car rides. He does best in a kennel in the car where he will curl up and quietly wait until you arrive at your destination. Even though Rolo has gotten exponentially better, new things can spook Rolo which makes him want to retreat. Due to this, he would do best in a physically fenced yard or leash walked - not free roaming in the yard or an invisible fence. Rolo has been receiving training to work on his confidence, general obedience, grooming & handling, and just some fun stuff. He is very food motivated and loves to please his handler. He catches onto things quickly and would love a family that has an interest in continuing to work with him; even if it's only fun tricks. Rolo does not like a lot of chaos in his life. And while he is very clear when he is uncomfortable, he does not like his boundaries pushed. Due to this, Rolo shouldn’t go to a home with young children. If you have visitors come over, he will very happily snooze in his kennel until they leave- he really has no desire to meet them. Rolo is a moderately active guy. He walks like a dream and enjoys going out and about, but is also very happy to chill and be loved up when he is home. Rolo would do best in a household that can be leaders to show him that he doesn’t have to worry about things in life and not push him too fast too soon as he gets used to them. A quiet week or two as Rolo bonds to you will leave you with a loyal, lifelong best friend that will relish doing everything with you.
