Marty is a sweetheart that found himself unwanted in a high kill shelter in West Texas. He is good with other dogs and kids, cats are unknown, but he does like to chase the outside critters. All dogs and puppies require supervision and training.
This goofy, floppy boy is looking for his home!
Marty is one of the most lovable dogs you will ever meet. He loves snuggles and kisses and will wrap his arms around you for a hug whenever he gets a chance. Marty barely escaped being euthanized at a high-kill shelter in Texas, so when he arrived in Minnesota he was underweight and starving for affection. He is learning that food and love will never be in short supply from now on.
Marty loves playing with other dogs and is very gentle with his much smaller foster brother, but he loves to play rough and tumble with the dogs his size. Those two have become quite a team, and Marty is learning lots of fun things like how to play tug-of-war, chase after a ball, watch the neighbors from the balcony, and chew up a bully stick in record time. Marty has a lot of puppy energy to burn and would do well in a home with another active dog or a yard to sniff and play in.
Marty is super smart, eager to please, and food-motivated – a perfect combination for training! In the two short weeks he has lived with his foster parents, he has learned “sit” and “lay down” and is fully crate-trained. Since this is Marty’s first time living indoors, however, he is still learning some household etiquette. Marty keeps his crate clean at night and goes reliably outside. He loves belly rubs & window watching.
As an added bonus, Marty is surprisingly low-shedding. Even after vigorous pets and snuggles, he leaves almost no fur behind.
We think Marty would be a wonderful addition to any family that has love to give and is willing to teach him the ropes. He is a very good boy!
